Contract Renewal Manager (Contract Role)
About the Role
This will be a 12-18 month contract role.
As Contract Renewal Manager, you will lead a customer-facing role responsible for managing a portfolio of customer contracts approaching expiry and driving the end-to-end renewal process. The focus is on securing timely renewals, protecting revenue, mitigating commercial risk, and sustaining strong customer relationships, all while staying aligned to the organisation's commercial strategy. You will work closely with customers and the wider Commercial, Sales, Legal, Finance, Operations and senior stakeholder teams to negotiate mutually beneficial renewal outcomes that maximise commercial terms and customer retention. The role calls for strong commercial acumen and the ability to analyse, interpret and negotiate contracts while building lasting customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute renewal strategies to secure long-term customer retention and revenue maximisation.
Lead customer negotiations for an assigned portfolio of renewal opportunities.
Maintain an accurate and up to date contract renewal pipeline and forecasting process.
Review existing contractual arrangements and identify opportunities to improve commercial outcomes.
Assess pricing, profitability and risk associated with renewal opportunities.
Support the negotiation of commercial terms and conditions in collaboration with Legal and senior stakeholders.
Develop strong relationships with key customer stakeholders and decision makers to understand future requirements and business objectives.
Track and report on renewal performance, retention rates, revenue at risk and key commercial metrics.
Work closely with the wider Commercial team, Sales, Legal, Finance, Operations and Customer Service teams to support renewal activity.

You’re a commercially minded relationship manager with a proven ability to retain customers, negotiate successful outcomes, and drive long-term commercial value. You thrive in customer-facing environments where balancing customer needs with business objectives is key, and you’re confident managing complex contract renewals from initial engagement through to execution.
With strong commercial acumen and a keen eye for detail, you can analyse contractual terms, assess risk, evaluate pricing structures, and identify opportunities to enhance commercial performance. You build trusted relationships with customers and internal stakeholders alike, using your communication and negotiation skills to influence decisions, resolve challenges, and secure mutually beneficial outcomes. You enjoy working proactively, using data and market insight to shape renewal strategies, forecast revenue, and protect customer retention. Analytical, organised, and solutions-focused, you can navigate competing priorities while maintaining accuracy, governance, and a high standard of customer experience.
Key Requirements:
Experience managing customer contract processing/renewals, account or commercial contracts management.
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of contract dynamics, pricing structures, commercial terms, and risk.
Ability to review, interpret, and analyse complex customer contracts and service agreements with accuracy.
Clear, confident, articulate communicator, including during in-person and phone‑based discussions.
Skilled negotiator with the confidence to lead commercial conversations with customers and internal stakeholders.
Competent in conducting basic analytics to identify trends and interpret customer account performance.
Ability to challenge assumptions constructively and anticipate risks.
